Local young people put on a colourful display at the unveiling of the new mural

A striking new mural created by young people from Strabane and supported by us has been unveiled this week.
The image replaces anti-social graffiti that had been daubed on a large wall in the Springhill estate.
Tony McLaughlin chairman of Springhill Residents and Community Association said:
“After consulting with local residents we agreed that this wall needed to be cleaned-up and we got young people involved through workshops to paint things that meant something to them.
"We’re thrilled with the result, it really brightens up the wall and makes this part of Springhill a more welcoming space to live.
“A big thank you to the Housing Executive for providing vital funding and support to this project.”
One of our Good Relations Officers, Eddie Breslin, said:
“The Housing Executive works to support local communities to build relationships and improve their local neighbourhoods, making them more attractive places to live and work.
"This new mural, which was created by local schoolchildren, will be enjoyed by the local community for many years to come.”
