Like any organisation, we need money to carry out all our functions. Part of the money we use to do this comes through rent.
Our current rental income budget is £300.2m and we manage some 86,000 homes.
During 2016/17 we collected 99.45% of rent and rates due. Total rent and rates arrears increased by £0.05m to £12.14m, with 73% of our tenants showing a clear rent account.
During the year, we continued to provide advice and support, including debt counselling and preventative arrangements for those who had difficulty paying their rent as well as taking firm action against those who persisted in not paying their rent.
